What is a more durable, lighter, and easier stacking alternative to chain link fencing?

Protecting your construction site is a tremendous responsibility.  The last thing your company needs is lawsuits from people who trespass on your jobsite and get hurt or kids vandalizing and stealing from it.

Traditionally, construction sites protect their perimeters with chain link fence. However, now that many construction companies have found the convenience of wire mesh panels, they have made the switch.  What is the big difference?  Why are securing their sites with wire mesh fence panels?  While both get the job done, there are a lot of important differences between the two fencing options to be know.

Wire Mesh Fencing

Broadfence has tested their wire mesh fencing, the Broadfence Anticlimb Panel, and have made certain that it can withstand climates all over North America that have the highest wind speeds.

This fencing is easily put together with a clamp, has hi-vis, wide removable feet, which makes the fence stable and secure.

When you have lots of fence panels and you’re looking to transport them or put them into storage, wire mesh fencing is easier to stack and easier to transport than chain link fencing. They’re lighter, easier to stack, and ultimately more durable, making them last longer.

Chain Link Fencing

Chain link fence panels are extremely heavy and awkward. This makes it difficult to move and install. You will simply need more time and more manpower to set up these heavier fence panels.

Another problem with chain link fencing is that the mesh is only attached to the side of the frame.  After a bit of wear and tear, there’s a greater chance of tangling and knotting, which isn’t something you see with wire mesh fence panels because the mesh itself is welded to the frame of the panel.

Tangling happens often, so you can imagine how inconvenient it becomes to unstack chain link panels when you’re done at a job site and are moving to the next.

Which Broadfence Panels are right for you job?

Broadfence offers the highly popular line of temporary fencing—Anticlimb Fence Panels—our revolutionary wire-mesh fence panels. Anticlimb comes in standard, premium, and platinum builds, with a couple variations and extensions on some of the models.

But first, what do all Anticlimb Fence Panels have in common?

In North America, temporary fence is typically welded by hand, but that’s not how things are done at Broadfence. They use “SmartWeld” process (actually called “resistance welding”), which involves joining two pieces of steel together and then running a large electric current through them to fuse them together, creating an unbelievably strong joint.

All of the Anticlimb panels are manufactured this way. Not only does a SmartWeld process ensure our temporary fencing is economical but also durable. They simply last longer.

SmartWeld features:

  • Joint strength that’s 70% stronger than a traditional MIG weld fencing
  • Unparalleled testing procedures and quality assurance, as we test every single frame with up to 1100+ pounds of force
  • Tensioned mesh gives the frames a taut and uniform appearance
  • Each and every wire is welded to the frame to add strength and durability (unlike traditional chain link fencing)

So, what’s the difference between all our Anticlimb panels?

Every job site is different, which means they all have different safety and security needs. Our Anticlimb Standard Fence Panel is a popular choice for many construction crews. It’s lightweight and durable and gets the job done, keeping your site safe and secure.

The Anticlimb Standard Fence Panel

Broadfence’s Anticlimb Standard Fence Panel is strong and durable, yet lightweight and easy to install. These 11’ 3” long and 6’ 7” high fence panels are perfect for large construction sites, enclosing hazards, concert and festival crowd control, event perimeters, environmental control and general road and civil works.

As the name implies, the welded wire mesh of our Anticlimb temporary fencing is tight enough so that a person can’t squeeze a foot in and climb over. As opposed to being painted, our fence panels are galvanized, so they won’t chip and rust. Part of what makes Broadfence’s Anticlimb Standard Fence Panel such an appealing fencing solution is that it’s a strong yet simple product.

But sometimes, you might need something a little extra, something a little longer, sturdier, thicker, and heavier. That’s where our Premium Panel and our most heavy-duty option, the Platinum Panel, come into play.

The Anticlimb Premium Fence Panel

If your project needs a little extra protection, the Broadfence Anticlimb Premium Fence Panel is the perfect temporary fencing solution for you. Much like the Standard version, the Anticlimb Premium Fence Panel is a galvanized 6’ 7” high and 11’ 4” long. However, this fence panel comes with a crossbar that runs vertically through the middle for some added durability. Similar to the Anticlimb Standard Fence Panel, its premium brother weighs 38 pounds as opposed to 30.

If you might need something a little longer, sturdier, thicker, and heavier. That’s where our Premium Panel and our most heavy-duty option, the Platinum Panel, come into play.

The Anticlimb Platinum Fence Panel

If site security and durability are paramount, we can’t suggest anything better than our Anticlimb Platinum Fence Panel.

It’s bigger, longer, and heavier than our previous panels, measuring a galvanized 6’ high and 12’ long, perfect for large construction sites, enclosing hazards, event perimeters, environmental control and general road and civil works. The Anticlimb Platinum Fence Panel weighs 53 pounds

Of course, not all site security issues are six feet tall. We also offer the Platinum Fence Panel in an 8-foot variation, for a little extra height.

Mesh Privacy Screening

Depending on the project, there might be sensitive property or information you want to protect or keep secret. That’s where mesh privacy screening comes in. You’ve probably seen it before: privacy screening such as Broadfence’s is a lock-stitch knitted high-density polyethylene mesh that goes over your temporary fence. It is an affordable method that shields your job site from wandering eyes. It’s an easy install, so it takes virtually no time before and after the project to set up.

Deter Theft

When you have temporary fence panels already set up around the perimeter of your job site, you’re already doing a great job deterring site theft. However, sometimes you have valuable property or equipment, and at Broadfence, we’re all about making it safe and secure. Our privacy screening has an 85% opacity, so you can barely see through it at all. Rest assured, onlookers simply have less to be curious about when you’re using Broadfence’s privacy screening.

Protect Information

Sometimes, you’re not necessarily worried about dissuading theft, but more so concerned with simply protecting information. Your project may involve something that isn’t meant for public eyes, and temporary fence on its own is not enough to keep that information private. Privacy fencing can help keep that information safe.

Easy to Install

One of the most compelling reasons to use privacy screening on your site is because it’s an easy install. It’s not something that’s complex or takes a lot of time. The fact that you can throw it over your temporary fence panels and attach it easily with a plastic tie makes it a solid choice for when you’re considering a temporary fencing solution that also acts as a visual barrier.

Well, there you have it. Hopefully that helps you choose which temporary fence panel best suits your project. Get in touch with a Tamis rep today, and we can help you make the right decision for your job site.
